While Richie was working out a few kinks with Lou, Jon took the opportunity to sneak away to call his wife. He was in need of some lovin’ that only his woman could provide.
Finding an empty room near the stage, Jon turned the door handle as he hit the button that would connect him with his sweet Jojo. Shutting the door behind him, Jon allowed himself a few precious moments of privacy and peace and quiet as he slid into a chair by the door with his phone firmly pressed to his ear. A few rings and the line was picked up.
“Well, hello there, Blue Eyes.” The soft sultry voice of his woman had him smiling already.
“You know I never get tired of hearing you call me that?” To the rest of the world, there would only ever be one true “Ol’ Blue eyes”, Frank Sinatra. But to his Jojo, he was her “Blue Eyes”.
“I hope not, since I plan on using that nickname for many years to come, my love,” Joanne assured her husband.
“I am going to hold you to that, Jojo. How’s my baby doing?” Tenderness showed in his voice whenever spoke with her, or about her.
Hearing the tenderness had her blood pumping, but it was the loneliness in his voice that had the ache inside of her growing. “Keeping busy while I count down the minutes until I feel those sexy lips on mine.” The reality of it hit her right then, in a matter of a few hours she would be able to do just that.
A sigh escaped his lips as he leaned his head back against the wall. The thought of his wife in his arms, tasting those sweet luscious lips had his cock growing with need and want. “Jojo.” His voice held just a slight warning.
“Yeah, Jonny,” she answered in a breathless whisper.
“God baby, I wish you were here with me right now.” Jon groaned as he ran his hand over his bulging cock.
Hearing the groan, Joanne slipped inside a small room towards the back. Quietly closing the door behind her, Joanne sat on the only piece of furniture in the room, a small couch that would barely fit two people.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Worry was etched in her words.
Jon could hear the concern in her voice, he didn’t mean to worry her. “I’m fine, sweetheart, just missing my girl.”
Joanne knew he was not telling her the truth, partly because he had a show to do, which meant they were on borrowed time. The other reason was he didn’t want her to worry about him.
“We will have our talk time soon.”
“Looking forward to that more than you know, Jojo.” He pinched the bridge of his nose.
After they put the kids to bed tonight they would talk, they would climb into bed with a glass of wine, snuggle under the covers and talk about their days like they had been doing for years. It was something they had started doing back when Jon was out on the road back in the early stages of his career and their relationship, even when the band took off, they had continued the ritual. When the kids started coming along, they waited until after they were tucked in for the night before climbing into their own bed.
He needed a diversion from where Jojo’s soft voice was having his body telling his mind where to take this conversation. “How are the kids? Are they minding their mama? Or do I have to play ‘mean Dad’ when I see them?” he asked and chuckled.
A tiny giggle slid past her lips. “Our angels? Please, you know they mind their mama. They only misbehave for their dad.”
For the most part, the statement was true. When it was just her and the kids they would be on their best behavior, or at least give it their best shot. Now when Jon was home, that was completely different. All bets were off then! The kids loved to get him all riled up for no reason at all sometimes, then sit back and watch when he would get frustrated with them, especially if they did something wrong and he was trying to decide on how to punish them!
A smile formed on his lips when thinking of their kids. “Yeah, the little hellions love giving me a hard time. Damned if I don’t miss it!”
As one particular memory popped in his head, Jon began to laugh. “Baby, do you remember when Michael was around six years old and Bri was maybe, oh man, I don’t know around three or four years old and we bought her that doll that danced and walked?”
“I remember,” Joanne said with a grin.
“Remember when Michael took it from her and ripped the head off of it right in front of Bri?” His voice rose in excitement with the memory.
“Yes and he tried to put the head on his hamster!” Laughter bubbled out of Joanne as she could still see the look of horror on Bri’s face like it was yesterday. “I thought for sure she was going to have a fit when he did that! But she didn’t!”
“She got her revenge, remember?” His voice held a hint of teasing to it.
Joanne shuddered at the memory. “ Oh, I remember alright.”
Somehow Bri had managed to put close to 100 worms in Michael’s bed that night without being seen. When Michael went to climb into his bed that night, the scream that came out of not only his mouth, but hers as well, could have risen the dead. While Jon cleaned up the worms, Joanne was trying to calm a terrified six year old boy as well as herself. During the entire incident Bri never came to see what was going on. Nope, she asleep in her bed with a tiny smirk on her face.
“I still say Bobby helped her collect those disgusting things and put them in Michael’s bed.” She shivered as the image of those wiggly things ran through her mind.
“Sweetheart, when I heard those screams I almost broke my neck running down the hall. But the look on your face when I ran in the room? Now that was priceless!”
“Gee thanks, baby, I love you too.”
“Aww, come on now, Jojo, you know I am only teasing.” His voice dripped with honey. A knock on the door had Jon frowning. “Yeah, I’ll be right there,” he yelled to the person standing on the other side of the door.
Joanne had heard the knock. “Guess that means our stroll down memory lane is over, huh, baby?”
Giving a big sigh, Jon slowly raised himself out of the chair. “Yeah, it does. I promise we will stroll down memory lane again when I get home. And we will make more beautiful memories as well. Right now I got to get back to work. I think I left the guys alone long enough.”
Joanne giggled. “Leave those four alone for too long and god knows what trouble they will get into.”
“Baby, are you drinking?” Jon inquired.
“ Maybe?” She giggled again.
“Yep, you’re drinking.” He chuckled.
“How can you tell if I am drinking, Blue Eyes?” Again she giggled.
“Because, baby, when you get tipsy, you giggle.” Another giggle filled his ear. These were the times when he hated that his mistress took him away from his lover. Here he was thousands of miles away and she was ripe for the taking. “ Fuck!”
Joanne chose to ignore the “Fuck!” comment. “Alright, baby, have a great show tonight. I miss you, Blue Eyes.” Her eyes misted over.
“Jojo?” Jon whispered.
“I’m here, Jonny.” Her knees went weak as his voice had her longing to be in his arms.
“I love you, sweetheart.” He didn’t give her a chance to respond he just hung up.
She held the phone tightly against her chest as silent tears fell from her eyes. “I love you, Blue Eyes.”
Aww, such a cute couple!
